General questions

No, neither your seasonal accommodation or ski pass are covered in the course fee. We are more than happy to assist you in finding somewhere to live for the winter, so if you need help then just let us know.

Our training course are designed to create better ski instructors. Passing additional exams is one part of that equation, but there are other elements that are important to become a fabulous instructor. The program is integrated with our ski school so all our candidates can grow as instructors as well as improve their technical skiing level.

Yes. While the course runs through the winter season, there are weeks where there is a break in training… in those weeks it is possible to take time off, shadow Summit lessons or possibly teach (subject to a successful interview).

Joining the training team does not guarantee you are able to work for Summit during the winter. However, anyone who is interested can interview for a position with us and if successful in the interview process will be able to teach in the high season weeks.

We have an awesome team of teachers at Summit and the bar is high. Joining our training program means we have the time to get to know you and your skills on a more personal level than just reading a cv and having a facetime interview

At Summit we hire a high level of instructor, and this will be no exception. The details will be made clear at the start of the course but the interview will encompass a relaxed chat as well as an assessment in other areas: skiing, professionalism, sociability and more.

Our experience is that fewer women than men progress to complete the ISIA level. Our school is interested in looking at ways to encourage women through the system, and with this program we are hoping it helps.

As it is the first year of this group, we will be looking for lots of feedback so we can keep developing it and moving it forward. We realise this isn’t for everyone, so any women who prefer the idea of a mixed male and female group are welcome to join our other training group.

Technical skiing level

Yes. Our training program is designed with the BASI Level 3 tech and teach exams in mind, but we are always happy to explore the differences and similarities in other systems.

If you have passed the level 2, then you are welcome on our course. There will be lots of individual feedback and action planning so that you can make changes in your skiing at your own pace and level. The trainers will be there to guide you and advise if you are ready to start going for level 3 exams.

COVID related Q's

In the event of resort closure and we are not able to run all or part of the course, a refund will be made (pro rata) for the time missed. We will not charge for time we are not able to deliver.
